Open Learning Through the Lens of a MOOC, an area for continued discussion on the webinar by Betty Hurley-Dasgupta, Center for Distance Learning; offered as part of the CML Webinar Series on Uses of Technology in Mentoring, Teaching and Learning.

Talking About Practice, a discussion area for mentors to raise questions, reflect on issues they may be having in their mentoring and teaching experiences, and to share strategies.

Projects in Progress, a discussion area where faculty members can share current research projects, invite collaboration on particular projects, or request or share information regarding current resources.

Innovations in Online and Blended Learning Environments
, a discussion area where faculty members can share new strategies and designs in the uses of technology in their mentoring and teaching, seek input on approaches or tools they’d like to try, share models for online and blended learning, or talk about challenges they may be experiencing.

New Mentor Orientation Discussion Forum, a discussion area devoted to NMO residencies and Elluminate meetings.This discussion forum is open only to members of the New Mentor Orientation community group.

Book Group, all faculty and staff interested in reading and discussing a particular writer or title on mentoring, teaching and/or learning are invited to join a book group that CML can host, or to use this site to initiate a college-wide book group of your own. The current discussion is of the book The Courage to Teach by P. Palmer (2007), a well-known writer about teaching in higher education. The archive of the discussions focusing on the book Teaching With Your Mouth Shut by D. Finkel (2000) and the article "Personal Best" by A. Gawande (2011) is accessible within this group. Another book title that we have suggested for a future discussion is The Skillful Teacher, by S. Brookfield (2006), a respected theorist in adult education.

Innovations in Practice, Innovations in Practice is a discussion area where faculty members can share new strategies, designs and activities in their mentoring and teaching.

Educational Planning, a discussion area where issues related to procedure and policy that were identified during the CML Educational Planning Workshops are shared and discussed.

Prior Learning Assessment, a discussion area where issues related to procedure and policy that were identified during the CML Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Workshops are shared and discussed.

Mentoring Minutes, a discussion area that contains a summary of each biweekly Mentoring Minutes conference call, as well as space for colleagues to continue the discussion and share resources.

Institute on Mentoring, Teaching and Learning, an area for Institute participants to discuss their projects and receive feedback. Blackboard session schedules and information can also be accessed here. Note: this discussion forum is open only to members of the Institute on Mentoring, Teaching and Learning community group.
