Innovation and Collaboration in ESC 2.0

Call for Proposals and Save the Date

Oct. 25-27

The Fall Academic Conference returns on Oct. 25-27 in Saratoga Springs. This year’s conference theme, Innovation and Collaboration in ESC 2.0, applies to the whole college community – students, faculty and staff.  This year’s conference is intended to be an inspiring and uplifting experience. For more specifics on the submission process, see the call for proposals below. 

Turben Scholar Gayle Stever will present the Turben Lecture at the Fall Academic Conference this year.      

Also sought is an outside speaker who can inspire and energize to innovate and build collaborations within the new organizational structure.

Call for Proposals

In addition to division and department meetings, there are opportunities for concurrent sessions and a poster session. Proposals are sought for these sessions that focus on the theme of Innovation and Collaboration in ESC 2.0. The sessions and posters can focus on work in progress or envision what could happen in the future. This could focus upon course and program development, research, college projects, open educational resources (OER), curriculum and instruction design, educational technology digital library resources, MOOCs, micro-credentialing, competency-based education, applied learning, workplace learning and any other new and exciting ways of collaborating and innovating at ESC.  

The concurrent sessions will be in one-hour blocks and the poster session will be combined with a refreshment break. 

Send concurrent session and/or poster session proposals to Amanda.Mickel@esc.edu in the Office of Academic Affairs by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 30, for review by the Fall Academic Conference Steering Committee. Proposals will not be accepted after this date. Proposals should not be longer than 200 words. Indicate in your proposal (see attached proposal template):

  • Names of the presenter(s) and affiliation
  • Title of the proposal
  • Type of session: Concurrent or Poster session
  • Technology needs (e.g., laptop, projector)
